The Seven Energies

Indigo

Primary attribute: awareness of spirit

Other attributes: wonder, awe, mystery

In the Indigo energy we become aware of the source of beauty and truth. This music is beyond the structured logicalness of blue, and there is often a feeling of formlessness. It is an exquisite tapestry of musical sounds, delicious suspensions, and delicate harmonic sequences.

To listen to Indigo music, and really hear it, is a profoundly uplifting experience that raises the soul to a higher level. It may take several listenings to completely tune in to the energy of an Indigo work.

There is no dark form of Indigo.

Relevant composer: Bach, Brahms and Wagner stand out as persons who successfully brought the Indigo quality into form; also Mozart in his later choral music. Some of Wagner’s preludes from Lohengrin, Tristan and Isolde, and Parsifal, are especially exquisite and imbued with a high sense of sacredness.
